Do I need a medical card to shop at American ReLeaf?
Yes. American ReLeaf is a medical cannabis dispensary. Maine patients need a valid written certification from a licensed Maine medical provider, and visiting patients need a valid medical cannabis credential from an approved state. Always bring a government-issued photo ID along with your certification or card.
What should I bring on my first visit?
Bring two things: your medical certification (Maine) or valid out-of-state medical card, and a government-issued photo ID such as a driver's license or passport.
How old do I have to be?
You must be 21 or older, or a registered medical patient with valid documentation. We verify ID for every patient, every visit.

Can I order online for in-store pickup?
Yes. Browse our full menu and reserve products through our online store, then pick up in person at our Bangor location. Bring your ID and certification when you arrive.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash and typically have an on-site ATM for your convenience. Because of federal banking rules around cannabis, accepted payment methods can change. Contact us for the most current options before your visit.

Products & dosing
What products do you carry?
We carry flower, pre-rolls, edibles, concentrates, vape cartridges, tinctures, topicals, and CBD wellness products. Everything is third-party lab tested, and we can share a certificate of analysis on request.
I'm new to cannabis. Where should I start?
Start low and go slow. We recommend beginning with a low dose, especially with edibles, which can take 30 to 120 minutes to take effect, then giving each product time before adjusting. Our team is glad to suggest gentle starting points.
Visiting & legal
Can out-of-state visiting patients buy from you?
Yes. Maine allows medical cannabis patients from approved states to purchase using a valid out-of-state medical card or certification plus a photo ID. Visiting patients may purchase up to 2.5 ounces every 15 days.
How much can I purchase or possess?
Qualifying Maine medical patients may possess up to eight pounds of harvested cannabis. Approved visiting patients may purchase up to 2.5 ounces every 15 days while in Maine.
Can I travel out of Maine with what I buy?
No. It is illegal to transport cannabis across state lines, even to another state where it is legal. Please keep all purchases within Maine and consume responsibly.
